Pearl Ikeda

Office Administrator

Pearl is our office administrator and is from Southern California. She graduated from the Business and Marketing program at California State University, Fullerton. She enjoys meeting with the staff at the clinic, getting out of the house to go to work and hearing the patients’ success stories. Her greatest accomplishment is raising good kids. Some fun facts about her are that she collects bobble heads and enjoys watching Hallmark movies. Her hobbies include going to Dodgers games, wine testing and she loves animals. She’s a Dodgers and Angels fan and she used to play softball and basketball. Pearl enjoys almost every type of music except for opera.

Cheryl Watanabe

Vision Therapist

Cheryl is our vision therapist and hails from Orange County, California. She graduated from UCLA’s Kinesiology program and is a certified occupational therapist after receiving her masters from the University of Southern California in Occupational Therapy. Cheryl’s favorite part of working at the practise is working with the patients and she enjoys learning about neuro-optometric rehabilitation. One of her most memorable moments of working in eye care was when one client who suffered a head injury came in because she was feeling very unbalanced, dizzy, had many headaches, and was unable to accomplish her academic goals. After the first treatment, the patient felt a lot of improvement with the headaches, and at the second treatment she whispered to her mom “I feel normal”.

Carolyn Mathews

Office Supervisor

Carolyn Mathews is our office supervisor and she grew up in California. She got her undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach and her graduate degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Laverne. She is certified in customer service and enjoys working at our small clinic, making it easier to connect with everyone on staff. Carolyn is passionate about helping others, making sure everyone is happy when they leave the office. She wears glasses and contact lenses. Providing the appropriate lenses makes such a difference in their lives and at school.

Harmony Phuong

Coordinator of litigation and workers compensation

Harmony is from California and is our insurance coordinator and assistant to Dr. Ikeda. She graduated from University of Southern California’s Biology program on full scholarship and her goal is to become an optometrist. Her favorite parts of the job are the patient connections and getting to speak on behalf of the clinic to promote neuro-optometric rehabilitation.
Harmony is passionate about helping out the growing clinic in any way possible. Her most meaningful part of working in the eye care field is working with the workers compensation patients; getting to know their background, understanding the diagnosis, and helping them with rehab therapy in a way that helps them function better in daily life.

Danielle West

Danielle West is our receptionist and is from San Antonio, Texas. She is a certified phlebotomy technician (CPT) and a medical assistant. She is a proud mother of two children and loves spending time with them. Her favorite part of working at the practice is seeing the smiles on the kids' faces and how much fun they have in vision therapy. It reminds her of when her daughter was in occupational therapy. Her coworkers at the practice are very important to her, and she cares about them. When she has spare time, she enjoys watching television and movies, especially Marvel films.

I haven't actually used the optometrist side, so my review is limited to the vision therapy offered.  This office was recommended by my occupational therapist for the treatment of my double vision following a stroke.

Claire A.

Love this location. I had a brain injury accident from day one one. All the team make you feel you still important and hope in the horizon after when the medical system fell you miserably. Dr. Ikeda very professional and very understanding about your issue. Two tombs up.

Jim K.

My husband and I were immediately impressed with Dr Ikeda. I was hit by a car while cycling which caused broken bones and three brain injuries. The brain injuries caused double vision. Dr. Ikeda examined my eyes and got me started on vision therapy with his occupational therapist who specializes in vision therapy.  She (Chris) is absolutely great.  I am impressed with the array of tools used to help recover my binocular vision.  I am doing things I never thought were possible (balance boards etc).  Chris pushes me and keeps me motivated. I really enjoy my sessions with her.  The office staff is always friendly and they have a wonderful appointment reminder tool that makes it easy to keep my calendar up to date. I am happy the rehab center at Little Co. of Mary recommended them!!

Teresa S.

The Vision Therapy is handled in a separate office through a different door from the shared waiting room. Chris, the vision therapist, has a wide and varied assortment of tools, equipment and resources to best evaluate and treat most vision issues. After just a few visits, my double vision became easier to control, using exercises developed during the therapy process. It was time well-spent.

Joe M.

I have been coming here since I can remember. I love it here. The staff is so amazing and nice. They explain everything they gonna do and never make you feel rushed. Dr. Ikeda has always been my doctor and I would never want another one. He is the doctor for my whole family and is always asking how everyone is doing. I am also so crazy about picking out my frames and have to try so many and each person who helps me take the time and lets me try them all on. I would never want to go anywhere else! I definitely would recommend this office to anyone looking for a great eye doctor.

Kayla W.

This is not for the eye exam but for the frames selection portion. I brought my prescription from Kaiser here with my VSP insurance. The reception staff was very polite and professional.  Manny helped me to pick out frames and explain my coverage.  Very helpful and patient not like the individual at the other place I rated here on Yelp.  I was running late and he still helped me and was not bothered at all.  I am so glad I came here ..........very pleased.

Very professional staff and pleasant.
